Hi, I’m Lou…I am solution focused Clinical Hypnotherapist…basically that means we don’t pick over the past, rather we focus on where you want to be and how to get there! I’m also an Advanced E.F.T. Therapist who can help instil a sense of calm.
As my business name ‘Nurture Wellbeing’ suggests, I’m all about the gentle touch – the handholding whilst keeping you quietly accountable to improving your life.
Being compassionate certainly doesn’t mean that the ladies I work with don’t get results – quite the opposite! If I was to start trying to get them bursting through comfort zones, they would have literally run for the hills…but by using baby steps we get there in a way that is sustainable and enjoyable.
I realised about 3 years ago that I was a Highly Sensitive Person and suddenly everything seemed to make perfect sense.
It was the reason why I would ruminate over things that didn’t seem to bother other people, my people pleasing tendencies and the fact that I would get overwhelmed more than many people I knew.
Being sensitive also makes me fantastic at my other job – I’ve been an NHS Occupational Therapist for over 20 years, currently working in palliative care.

You can bet if there were ever conversations that needed to be gently handled or if someone was in need of emotional support, I was the person called upon – in fact many of the qualities required to do my NHS job, benefit me as a Therapist.
I’m also open about the fact that I have struggled with my mental health most of my adult life with ongoing depression – and it was this that led me to having hypnotherapy myself.
This was such a game changer and coupled with knowledge I gained about HSP, transformed my life. Now I want to be able to help you do the same without the frustrations that I endured and I can confidently say that this is possible.
If anyone is unsure whether to take the leap, all I can say is take the leap! I ended 2022 more resilient, motivated and content and have brought that into 2023.

What you’ll learn….
I have built my course around the most important things you need to know to build resilience and start thriving instead of surviving.
Over our 12 weeks together we will have weekly 1:1 therapy sessions that will help you rewrite old patterns that aren’t useful and to embed positive steps forward.
You will also work through a range of materials around
- Believing in Your Superpowers – the things that make you uniquely you and how you can not only make peace with this but celebrate this so that you can use your gifts in everyday life.
- Loving Yourself – also known as self compassion. Research shows that being kind to ourselves makes us happier and also more successful.
- Owning your Inner Critic – here we learn how we can understand our inner critic and strategies to prevent it holding you back in life so that you can achieve your goals in life.
- Stop Shoulding – as huge hearted women we often feel guilt or over-responsible. This literally robs us of living joy-FULLY. By learning how to stop shouldering yourself you can create space for a more carefree life.
- Setting Boundaries – this is a big one and so many people struggle with this but learning how to set boundaries is essential for creating an enjoyable life free of resentment or overwhelm.
- Oasis of Calm – think of this as your tool box jam packed with tips and techniques that you can call upon to keep yourself on an even keel.
BONUS SECTION
7. Magical Futures – think of this as the sat nav to your ideal life – if you don’t know where you want to be, how can you get there? This section helps you create your roadmap to get from A to B!
There are not enough words for how amazing Lou is. The details…
You book in twelve 1:1 online sessions with me using ‘calendly’ – ideally on a weekly basis, at least you begin with. Calendly is an app that gives you access to my available appointments so you can fit things in to suit you.
You have the option to have these 1:1 sessions recorded or I can send you a written summary of the golden nuggets that we have unearthed and your action plan for the week.
The sessions can include solution focussed hypnotherapy, E.F.T. or coaching (I am also an NHS coach and don’t worry…I’ll pick exactly the right mix to suit you).
You have unlimited Voxer support in-between sessions. Voxer is a free text and messaging app so that you can leave me messages, ask questions or celebrate your wins. I will reply in 48 hours but in reality it is usually much sooner.
You get your own portal on my website. This is yours to access for 6 months. The portal contains a range of workbooks and guides to steer you through each of the areas mentioned above. You can revisit these at any time – helping you embed changes and review the materials as you progress to really maximise your benefits.
I also create extra guides especially for you to help you with any challenges – making your portal bespoke to your needs. We are all uniquely different and I believe that my programme should reflect this.
You will receive extra audios in your portal around the key themes in addition to my standard hypnotherapy recording. These enable you to rewrite unhelpful patterns and lay positive foundations for the future – they are also extremely relaxing and either comforting or uplifting (or both!)
I also use an evidence based outcome measure so that we can keep track of your progress and also make any tweaks where we need to.
Finally – a special gift box will arrive through the post, jam packed with supportive goodies to nurture you on your journey.

FAQ’s
You mention HSP, how do I know if that is me?
Elaine Aron is widely recognised as the founder of the idea of the Highly Sensitive Person – you can take her quiz at https://hsperson.com/test/highly-sensitive-test/ however if you already follow me and much of my content resonates with you, then it is likely that you would be a good fit.
What does a standard session look like?
Each session consists of approximately half an hour talking therapy where I ask curious questions to help you think about how things could be different and the next small steps you would like to take. The remaining half an hour is the hypnosis part of the session. We can add in E.F.T. to create an extra soothing dimension to your session, or as a stand alone treatment to work through challenging thoughts/symptoms.
What is hypnosis?
It is a relaxing state where you listen to the sound of my voice. Your subconscious becomes open to positive suggestions. Hypnosis also allows your brain to problem solve and come up with solutions to your challenges.
Am I aware during hypnosis?
You are fully conscious. It is entirely safe and you cannot be made to do anything that you don’t want to do.
What is E.F.T.
E.F.T. is sometimes known as Tapping it works like acupuncture without needles to restore balance

Do the sessions work well via zoom?
Yes zoom works equally as well as face to face sessions. Some people actually prefer zoom because they have less travel restrictions (I see women globally), they can pick the therapist that suits them or even that they can turn up in the pyjamas!
What if I would like face to face sessions?
If you are able to travel to me then I have beautiful therapy spaces in the heart of Whitley Bay and Tynemouth approximately 20 minutes from Newcastle Upon Tyne. Please message me for more information.
Can anyone be hypnotised?
If you have ever driven and been unable to recall driving part of your journey or watched tv and ‘zoned out’ then that is considered a hypnotic trance state.
Are you insured?
Yes I am fully insured for all treatment modalities. I am also DBS police checked and am a member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and The National Council for Hypnotherapy. You can also find me on Hypnotherapy Directory which is regulated.
Do you have supervision?
Yes I have regular supervision as part of my code of conduct. I also work with a coach for my own personal development.
Do you issue refunds?
I have never had a client be unhappy with their results to date. If you feel that something isn’t working for you, I will be happy to discuss this with you. We can take things from there, bearing in mind that equal responsibility lies on you to fully contribute to your results.
Why do sessions have to be weekly?
I recommend weekly sessions so that you get into a good routine with listening to the audio and doing the gentle tasks required outside of sessions. This way you get the best results, so it is in your own interest to have weekly sessions.
As people progress well into the programme they do sometimes opt for fortnightly sessions as a means of testing out their own resilience with the safety net of having me ‘on hand’ and of course should you have holidays booked etc then we can work around this.
Why is the programme 12 weeks?
There are 6 main themes to the programme and this allows you adequate time to work through this without being overwhelmed. It is also a commitment to yourself that you are ready for working towards positive, sustainable change.
Do people ever ‘top up’ with single standard sessions of therapy?
Yes, some people see this as an enjoyable & effective part of their self care; giving themselves protected space to reconnect and keep on track.
What if this isn’t for me right now?
I am committed to supporting women just like you whether you are ready, or able, to invest in a 12 week programme or not.
I have other options available such as standalone hypnotherapy sessions, which could be an alternative way forwards – if you’d like to chat through this then I am here for you.
