Neurodiversity

Adult ADHD is estimated as affecting 3.5% of the UK adult population (ADHD UK) and is characterised by behaviours which may include inaction, hyperactive-impulsivity or a combination of both.

It is thought that more than 1 person in every hundred is autistic and some of the challenges associated include restrictive behaviours, difficulty with social interaction and extreme anxiety.

Hypnotherapy helps both of these groups of people by improving a sense of well-being, ability to cope with stress, decreasing anxiety and depression. Emotional Freedom Technique helps to calm frazzled nervous systems as well as processing challenging thoughts or symptoms.

I am seeing more individuals, particularly women, who are being diagnosed later in life with ADHD. Many of whom report to me having felt “different” throughout their lives and through having therapy unlock new levels of acceptance, self compassion and recognising their strengths as well as being able to cope with the challenges that neurodiversity brings.

I am also fully onboarded with ‘Celebrate Difference’ and ‘This Is Me’ charities who can support people through Access to Work funding in these areas.

As a Highly Sensitive Person myself, which also falls under the neurodiverse umbrella, you can be assured of a safe, understanding and non-judgemental space when you choose me as your therapist.
