Highly Sensitive Person

A Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) tends to experience the everyday world more intensely than the rest of the population.

It is estimated that 20% of the population are HSP’s and whilst there are many advantages such as increased empathy and the ability to appreciate life’s pleasures, there are also many challenges.

Many HSP’s have a tendency to be hard on themselves, feel criticism more deeply, be affected by sadness in the world or absorb the emotions of others. They can also be affected by their environment such as bright lights, strong smells or loud noises. They may find it difficult to put boundaries in place with others and it is certain that any HSP will need more rest whilst building and maintaining resilience will be imperative.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help with general stress reduction as well as being a restorative and calming experience. I create a safe, nurturing environment to explore how a HSP might put boundaries in place for example or manage their inner critic and craft a joyful in a way that feels right for them.

Finally, as a HSP myself I know exactly how this feels – often people have been told they are ‘too sensitive’ and they need to ‘toughen up’ or they have grown up feeling that they haven’t quite fit in with their peers. I can help people see and harness their sensitivity as a superpower and live the life that they deserve.
